;D I am starting to enjoy this Intarsia and my patterns are starting to slow down, Here is another one i thought i would try just to get the hang of cutting small pieces, The idea is there but finding it hard to sand the small bits ::)

That looks awesome! I find a good way to sand the little pieces is to stick them to a piece of scrap wood with double sided tape. I even use popsicle sticks for pieces like bird feathers and other small pieces. The stick (or piece of wood) keeps your fingers from getting in the way and getting tired (and it keeps you from sanding off fingerprints and nails!) In the beginning when I started doing segmentation, I would sand until sometimes my fingers would bleed a little. It was hard to keep the blood off of the light maple that I usually used - especially one time when I was doing a hummingbird for the magazine and needed step by step pictures! I figured out this method after and it makes it SOOOOO much easier! It also saves me from "launching" pieces and having to hunt for them when the Dremel catches them. Give it a try and I bet you will agree! :) Your work is always beautiful! You really did a great job on this! :)

I agree with Sheila, great work Paul

Another great job. OK now you're hooked. Too bad more people don't have the courage to try making Intarsias.
Like Mikie says "Try it and you'll like it"

Hi Al, after seeing your beautiful work, along with Grampa and all the others, I have decided to have a go at intarsia. Rather, I have been coerced into it by my better half who says it is lovely. I have a steep learning curve ahead of me it would seem. One can only give it a go. Thanks to all for sharing your work.

The small pieces can't be all that hard to sand theres not a sign of blood anywhere. LOL Just joking its lovely Paul. You know the old saying, "Practice makes Perfect"
