Perhaps the most well known and important document in Irish history. The 1916 Proclamation was read by P.H.Pearse at Dublins General Post Office(GPO) on Easter Monday 1916 at the start of the Rising which changed Irish history. The 7 signatories of this proclamation were executed by the British within weeks of the Rising.
Recreated 4 times the Original size 40 inches x 60 inches in 6mm Walnut on a veneered Ash board.
It took 400 hours and used 120 scrollsaw blades.
Each letter was cut individually and it includes all the anomalities, small letters e which were used in the third paragraph as normal font e ran out.
For a first attempt at a major project I am quite happy with it. There is some leak out around the letters of the glue used. A lot of lessons were learned here.
