..because I finally got a drill press: Rotwerk RB13 (http://www.rotwerk.de/Metallb/bohren/RB13.html)
Now I'm able to drill perfectly straight holes and will not have to deal with false ones.
Costs not so much as expected - in Germany it's sold around 147Euro (195$). That's the bottom range of money one can spend for reasonable drill press here.
I got it from Hornbach, a big semi-professional home improvement store here in Germany.
The Drill press is a sweet little one. Operating wonderful precise, really quite(!) and so much better.
Haven't done much with this one yet, but I guess it's a good one so far and worth a recommendation as a European 220V machine.

looks like a nice little drill press

Hey Torsten, Looks like a nice drill press! Can that plastic guard be removed? It looks like it will be difficult to install a drill bit!
-
Torsten you will wonder how you ever lived with one, I know I love mine.

:o :o Very helpful tool. My round knobs came loose on mine so I just wrapped the threaded pieces with aluminum foil and srewed the knobs back on and BINGO.... holding true.

Nice Torsten. Enjoy. I think I need to take a trip to Hornbach Groningen. Have this planned for quite some time. Must get my friend so we can plan a visit and just browse and see what's to our liking.

The drill press came non assembled - so I just "forgot" the plastic guard :D I also got another part that seems to not fit anywhere.
The power cable is running through the shaft - nice and clean!
I also added a simple quick release drill chuck (http://www.wolfcraft.de/jcatalog_generated/de/products/product_groups/4873_product.html). That one makes it simple.
Marg, I hope I will use it much! This makes the work even easier and therefor faster (when it comes to production).
David, check out their wood. They have some more then other home stores (at least here).

I am really happy for you as a Drill Press is an essential tool for all Scrollers. I don't know what I would do without one as I do a lot of Fretwork.

Hey Torsten, Don't discard the unknown part. As soon as you do, you will need it! :D
