A Dear (Buck) running through water. Another great pattern by Charlie Dearing. It was cut from 6.5mm (1/4") birch plywood and measures 24" x 19". This was my first real project using spiral blades and overall i am quite pleased with the result :)
The photo was taken so as to try and protect the pattern which can be bought from charlie
The cutting is lying on black felt that i intend to attach and then frame...Pete

Beautiful work Pete. I got this pattern from Charlie a while back, but haven't cut it yet. You did a very nice job on it! Be proud!!

Pete that is excellent. How did you find the spirals?

Thanks for all you encouraging reply's :D
Marg, I did find you go through a learning curve with them ! My first problem was squashing the blade in the clamp as the blade was not always 90% to the clamp therefore making it more difficult to thread it through subsequent holes. I did get varies suggestions for this but the best way i found was to gently insert it into the bottom clap first and it would generally find its own way to 90%, this would mean if it was going to be squashed it would be at the top end and as i am a top feeder this was no longer a problem ;D
Sweeping curves and straight lines are a little harder with the spirals but the more i cut with them the more confident i was getting ;), they are necessary for the bigger projects though, practice ,practice and then practice some more !
what is your experience with them ! and do you have any tips...Pete

Very nice indeed Pete. I got some spiral blades from Mike which I will try out on an easier pattern. That one looks too hard for me as a first pass.
