Made this for Mom's birthday. 1/4" Oak, stained with minwax early american stain. Stack cut the sides. Cut with FD-UR #3. Photo is of her parents in their 20's. I think she'll like it! :)

She will love it. The frame is just perfect for the old photo. I think black and white photos are so much more interesting than color ones.
Great job on the frame and thanks for sharing.

Thank you everyone for the great compliments!!! I'm very happy with the results!
Dan, the pattern is available from Fox Chapel Pub. 3 different ways (that I'm aware of!). Issue #23 of SSWC, in their Big Book of Scrollsaw Woodworking, and here on their website:
http://www.scrollsawer.com/patterns/free-standing-fretwork-photo-frame.html
The website version is incomplete though! The backing plate and spacers are missing from the web version, however if you look at the pattern for the frame face, the spacers are there as dotted lines. The backing plate would simply be the same size as covered by the spacers. FYI, the frame face pattern is too large to fit on standard letter size paper. I simply printed it on legal size paper and it came out fine.
