If you have a 788 did you purchase the factory LIGHT?
How good is it?
Can a magnetic based light do just as well? or a clamp on?
About to make the deal and will get the stand but I am ambivalent about the light since I have several I could use.
Thanks for your comments and opinions!

Not worth the money unless you get it free.
Use mine with an old drill press if I need a little light there.
I have a couple of floor standing daylight reading lamps with one on either side of the table along with a three tube fluorescent overhead. I like to see what I am cutting without shadows ;D

I have heard the same thing as tas2181 said. It was not worth the money. A very poor light. :(

Tom is right. Mine came as a package. Not a great light however.

I use a goose neck lamp beside my work station....although the 788 has minimal vibration I can't stand seeing the light dance around when I'm trying to work.

At the time I brought mine the light wasn't free so I hung a 4' shop light about three foot over the saw and it's penty of light and as said the light that comes with the saw isn't all that hot ........my two cents .............Marshall

After reading the above posts I'm not saving my money for a DeWalt light. I'll start looking for old goose neck lights.
