Title: Today's Event....
Post by: GrayBeard on December 18, 2011, 02:31:51 pm
Just completed cooking and serving luncheon to six ladies in celebration of the 70th Birthday of my S.O.

I'm now hiding out while the 'girl talk' echoes off the walls, ceilings, and possibly the ARCH!

One question keeps coming to mind....with all the chatter...WHO the hell is LISTENING???

But they are having a ball so I will remain in the background until summoned.

Hey GB, I have the same thing happening this after noon. Today is my wifes annual Martini party. thirteen women will be here, and I will be hiding out in the shop! I have no projects to work on, but after a long season of cutting my shop is an absolute disaster. So I will be working on cleaning the shop. I would rather be inside watching Football, But with thirteen women in here, I wouldn't be able to hear the TV. Fortunately, I have a TV in the shop!

Hey GB, It has dawned on me that two months ago, this would not of been a problem as you wouldn't of heard them!

You are right Dan.  Just goes to prove that behind every silver lining there is a dark cloud.  (is that how that goes?)

One great thing about the 'implant'....that "REMOTE" I carry in my pocket gives instant control of the noise levels!

It all turned out great and I'm glad I nibbled as I was preparing...those gals ate EVERYTHING!

Hi GB - Did you get a Cochlear Implant?  Just curious - I own an audiology practice in Reno.

Congratulations!  We often recommend CI for our patients, although the closest facility is in Sacramento at the moment.  It's amazing what can be done.  I'm very happy for you!

shame the NHS over here wont fit them, dad's as deaf as a post even with his 2 hearing aids. Although I always said to him he has 2 perfectly good hearing aids but no reception in between.

In my left ear I am almost totally deaf and can hear fairly good in my right with a very strong hearing aid.  My Bride asks if her snoring bothers me at night.  I lay on my right ear so nothing bothers me at night.

Hey Chuck, I'm just like you! But women don't snore, they make "snuffly sounds"!
