Title: Hello from SoCal
Post by: meeks on December 09, 2011, 08:03:54 pm
Name's Greg, I live in the Los Angeles area. Picked up the Harbor Freight scroll saw about a month ago and I already want an up grade. I've already tried a few of Steve's projects: The reindeer family, the ribbon box, a comb and the mini nativity (posted the nativity on here in the brag forum). So far I've just used the blades that harbor freight sells and picked up some spiral blades from Home depot. Spiral blades wandered on me a bit but I can see where they can come in handy. I appreciate all of the knowledge you guys share around here, it's already been a big help.

Thanks

Welcome Greg, most of us get our blades from www.mikesworkshop.com including the spirals, but you will find that out.

Hi Greg and welcome to the forum.  I'm Julie from Texas.  Glad to have you.  You might want to upgrade your blades before the saw.  Mikes workshop has a variety pack so you can see what feels right to you.  The box stores sell the bottom of the line blades for twice what good blades will cost you.  Amazing things can be done on a simple saw with the right blades.  Happy cutting.
