Title: Despite the wind
Post by: dgman on December 04, 2011, 02:43:04 pm
Had a Christmas Boutique scheduled yesterday, and as most of you know, we have had high winds here in Southern California. The weather forecast was to be calm on Saturday but no, it was very windy, and this was an outdoor event! Could not even set up my eze-up tent because it would of blown away. I had a small Christmas tree set up to display some of my ornaments. I had it clamped and duct taped to the table and almost lost it a couple of times. I could not set up every thing I brought because I was afraid things would blow away. Not many customers because of the cold wind and it was just a four hour show. Despite all this, I managed to sell $450!
I didn't even bring my camera because I knew it would be a disaster!
One more show next Saturday. This is a Wood Art show at the the Woodcraft store in Ventura, CA. Only local Woodworkers will be displaying and selling. I did very well last year and hope to do a lot better this year!

I was wondering if you would be able to set up at all when I looked at the weather map.

But you did great under those conditions!

Go Get 'Em next week!

Selling $450 in a wind storm is defiantly not a bad day. Maybe the wind helped the sale.  ;)

I'm sure that the wind did not help the sale but, it would help a sail.  ;D ;D

Wow $450.00 in four hours in nasty conditions, I would say it was a well spent 4 hours.  Congrats!!  Hope you do even better next Saturday.

Thanks for all the replies! I forgot to thank Steve and Sheila Landry for their great ornament patterns, as they were the biggest sellers!
