Title: my bits
Post by: Keefie on November 30, 2011, 07:26:27 pm
I havent done much scroll saw work yet, but thought you might like to see what else I get up to, there is a working oil lamp and some celtic knot pens I made on my lathe. I'll post some of my scrolled bits as I make them.

Those are very nice and well done...really like the oil lamp!

Scrolling should come easy once you do a bit of practice.

thank you all for the nice comments, the  lamp is made from English Yew, and the purple colour came from a rusty old iron spike in the wood, and somehow it reacts with the yew turning it purple. (I know it was rusty spike as the next piece I turned had the spike in it, it took hours of grinding to resharpen my chisel as it put a 1/8th inch dent in the blade lol)
