Title: what a cold afternoon - sales report
Post by: tux_linux on November 19, 2011, 02:55:41 pm
Hey!

Just came back from a sale here in our town.
It was a afternoon sale from the shops around here with a prices to win and special actions everywhere.
I was invited to have a stand at the chocolate shop, who's owner is (by now kind of) one of our friends.

As I had my table set up and everything was fine the sun disappeared and we could really see the fog rushing in. It became a damn cold afternoon!
People where more rushing, noticing "really pretty ornaments" and "look at these puzzles" but didn't want to stop to take a closer look.
Well, made some sales anyway (about 100Euro ~ 140$) and had nothing to pay for.

Now I need a hot shower, a warm cup of tea and a sweet place on the couch.

Not a bad afternoon for you! 100 euros should buy a few planks of wood!

Nice looking display and assortment....

Nice looking display and projects.

Love the mustache on a stick.  I've never seen that before. You could use a goatee on a stick as well!

Well, I'm pretty satisfied now that I'm defrosted again.
In fact, no one was responsible for the weather this afternoon. I had hoped for a similar weather as yesterday, which was really sunny and without any wind. That would have worked much better. But I had my sales and made some contacts.

The table was quite full - I was afraid before to not have enough stuff for 3 tables. I had some more stuff under the table.

But anyway, next Sunday is the next show (craft fair). This time indoor :D

Hi Torsten,
Was that the same fog what caused a big accident on the German-Dutch border?

Next time your outside take a thermos of tea with you with a little whiskey in to keep you warm. LOL  Congrat's on the sales you did well.

Mike, I doubt that, the Dutch border is at nearest point like 500km (~320miles) away. The accident was one of those typical German mass crashes. To much speed, less space to stop. Car driving, especially on highways, is often more a car race kind of thing.

Marg, I got a couple of coffees from the chocolate shop. It's always again surprising how much more cold it becomes when one is just standing around. Rest of my shows are indoor fortunately.

$140 is good seeing there is no charge for the stand, it is always a risk having a stall out side, but people in NZ seem to like the out door one in preference to being inside, an impressive display you have

Lookin' Good Torston. I am too old and chicken to do outdoor shows anymore.
