Title: Dewalt 788 blower hose (nozzle)
Post by: bettyswood on October 09, 2011, 07:18:41 pm
Dewalt 788.  The blower nozzle came off when I moved the saw.  I still have it and found there is a split in the last link.  I took it off and I can not get it back on the fitting.  Help!!!

Hey Betty, Soak the end in some hot (not boiling) water. That will soften the plastic enough to push it onto the fitting. You can also use a heat gun or hair dryer, but if your not careful, you can melt the plastic.

Good tip dgman, I wish you had posted that one earlier.  ;)  I just had a similar problem but, I just pushed and shoved until I got it to pop back together.  :P  The thought of using a little heat never entered my mind. DOH!!!!  ::)

WOO - - HOO----  It worked, thank you so much.  I used the hot water, microwaved about 3/4 cup for one minute and put the hose in it for about 4 minutes.
Now I am ready to make some things.
