Title: Over the Garden Wall
Post by: dgman on October 02, 2011, 06:56:29 pm
This is from a pattern by Grampa. The portrait was stack cut, Four layers of 1/8" Baltic birch with a backer board of 1/8" oak plywood stained red Mahogany.
450 inside cuts. Cut with Olsen 2/0R and flying Dutchman NS 2/0 blades.
I built the frame from 5/8" Red Oak. The portrait and backer is glued into the frame, then soaked in a 50/50 Mixture of boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits. I have not applied a top coat yet as the oil is not dry yet, but I will use Deft semi gloss spray lacquer

Oh yea puppy breath one of life's little pleasures! They do look sleepy, and their tongues show it's a warm day, they will be curling up soon.

My first show is Oct 16. I am looking forward to it! It is an annual street fair in Thousand Oaks CA. It draws thousands of people. It is on a Sunday. I have looked at the forecast, It is supposed to be warm and sunny!
