No Gabby, he's been called worse. Actually, Conrad Hartz is a world known puppet builders. He build hand carved ventriloquist figures (also known as Dummies) and marionettes. I personally own seven of his figures.

Jeff, for the most part, builds his own hard figures (Walter, Bubba J, Sweet Daddy D, Super Melvin). The soft puppets are made by a lady in Virginia.

The one on the front right reminds me of our buddy Steve! ;D The second row on the left that's me in my younger years and I think I have to go to the bathroom! :o
