A recent email from Fine Woodworking showed some older tools which can be hand made - if only I had the skills.
There is information on a lovely vintage Scrollsaw, copied at:-

Plans are courtesy of www.vintageprojects.com , including a pedal your own scrollsaw - who needs the Gym to lose weight.
Fascinating stuff. Hope you enjoy them.

Janet - I think you missed the part about having to power the old scroll saw yourself, like one of those old treadle sewing machines.
Personally, I can't imagine being able to do it. Keeping a foot working for power while paying attention to keeping the blade following the line (plenty hard enough when I have electricity to do the work of making the blade go up and down) is probably more than I could ever coordinate. I can only offer my upmost respect to those who have mastered scrolling with that sort of equipment.

You are right Becky... I didn't read it all :) Maybe I should get one of those.
-
Yeah I am not very coordinated either. Would probably cut my fingers off. LOL.
-
Gives a better insight into the coordination required of DRUMMERS who have both feet and both hands often going at different tempos!!!
I KNOW that I would never be able to master pumping and cutting at the same time!
That's why God gave me electricity! (Thank You God!)
