I was wondering if I got a scroll saw stands would be worth it? I think they are the one's with three legs.

What kind of saw do you have Gene? I do know that the stand for the DeWalt saw is designed to help eliminate vibration, but a good sturdy shop built stand would work too. If you build your own stand, you can build it to you height requirements. Of course if you don't want to build your own stand, then yes, It would be worth it to get the saw off of your bench.

I have a Craftman 18 inch. Right now I have it on a stand that I have 1/2 inch plywood on top bolted to the stand and than I bolted the saw to that. But I get some vibration this way and do not know how to stop the vibration. That is the reason I thought a scrollsaw stand would help.

OK, Try installing pieces of rubber under the feet of the saw and where you have it bolted. Also, use some sand bags, or build a box on the stand to hold a bag of sand. This will help weigh down the stand and help absorb some of the vibration. You will never eliminate all of the vibration, but it may help.

Thanks, I will try that.

add weight. Weight is best to eliminate vibrations.
