Title: natural stain

inspired by this thread about bloody wood (http://stevedgood.com/community/index.php?topic=6647) I thought about natural stains for wood. Anyone tested such yet?

I'm thinking about things like natural colors (such as also used for eggs on eastern), coffee, juices... WINE! would this work or just swell the wood?

What ever you do, do not cut your finger and use the blood for coloring....and drink the wine ;)

Regular tea for iced or hot tea would impart a light brown or tan tint.
The soft outer part of walnut hulls a darker brown.
Rusty water I believe is another brown.
All of these depend on how strong the mix is and how much you have boiled the water off before using it. Also depends on how long it is left on before rinsing.
There are others but I'm coming up blank for now
I'm sure a search of "Natural Dyes" would get tons of responses.
