I went to a scrollers work shop on Saturday and what a great day, Merlin and Blackie were there so had chats with them as well as most of the other 22 scrollers I have enclosed 2 pics one showing some of the 22 scroll saws and the other was lunch time, we did 2 projects and as well as we had discussion time on the topic of , yes you guessed it scroll sawing

Looks like such fun.  And is the Excaliber still the best saw?
Sure wish there was a thing like that closer to North Dakota.

This work shop was run by the Manawatu guild of Woodworker scroll saw section and have been held for about 8 years on a regular basis, the first project was a simple stand up butterfly and consisted of fret, veining and scroll cutting simple but a very good exercise, the second was a choice on compound or a jigsaw, I choose the compound that was also a jig saw puzzle, and we also had around 2 hours of discussions plus also mixing with and talking to other scrollers, and yes Russ that is Merlin, I think Blackie had gone out for a few moments, and yes the Excalibur is still a great saw but unfortunately the NZ suppliers have let me down on the repairs that were supposed to be done
This was my second work shop and will definitely attend other as they come around, I will post tyhe projects when I get some time

Great write up Jimbo, That was also my second year. Had a great time, but that damn puzzle has me stumped. 3/4 inch square and bout 6 inch long (compound) I still think the pattern is wrong.

As Jimbo said it has been going about 8 years and this has our second (but it is only once a year), I wood like to see it twice a year, but I live a lot closer than some.
