I made this cross from 1/2 Maple. Cut using FD-UR #3 and FD-UR #5.
Not sure if I should leave as is or stain it.

that wood grain needs to pop don'T you dare stain it..........Unless you really want to.

Oh my I'd oil it and leave it the grain is so pretty.. Very good cutting.. Sheila

I've never used BLO before I'll have to give it a try and see how it turns out.

Beautiful Cross...
BLO and Mineral Spirits...50/50 let it soak and then set it up to dry and wipe off any excess.
Go for it...it should really dress it up.

great job i would oil it, 50/50 BLO and Mineral Spirits.

After the oil dries, top coat with lacquer or poly or acrylic. I like to us semi gloss or satin.
