Title: Sea Life
Post by: Intarsia92 on July 17, 2011, 12:29:49 pm
Sea Life is an Intarsia I completed using English Walnut, Black Walnut, Aspen and Holly woods. It's approx. 20" Dia.

Dan, I agree with you, I don't care for a gloss finish on Intarsias either.

On this Intarsia I used Deft, Satin Spray, but the picture was taken indoors using a flash, which makes it look glossy.

That is an awesome looking intarsia.  I particularly like it due to the sea life design.  There are so few patterns which capture salt water sea life.  I love the manatees in the middle and I wonder if that is your design?

All the superlatives have been used. What I did find interesting was 4 out of the 5 are mammals!

My latest beach scene took about 3 months ??? But I did a lot of contemplation and meditation with some frustration and agitation and finally determination thrown in I got the piece gone. Seems like it took 200 hours but I am sure it only took 150.     Thanks
