Title: No Soliciting Sign with Character

I am looking to make a "no soliciting" sign for the front door, but I wanted something with some character and detail. If anyone has a pattern I would love to see it - if not, I will continue to search the web for signs that I could make a pattern from. Thanks in advance.

I'll play with some designs.  it's been a while since I tried to draw and I could use the fun.  By character do you mean elegant or funny?  My mind went to funny, but I want to be sure.

How about Junk Yard Dog kind of character?  ;D
With some attitude so the soliciter gets the message for sure.

How about one that says We shoot Every third soliciter and the last 2 just left  and then you could use Steves gun Pattern (one from we don't dial 911)  for the sign, Or you could just change the words on that one to say it..... Just an Idea.

All Great ideas! I was envisioning a plaque with the letters cutout with some sort of design around the edges of the plaque to give it a more "elegant" look. Any shape would be suitable as there is lots of room to hang it by the doorbell.

A simple "no soliciting" will do. I have had lots of the funny plaques throughout the years, but would like this one to be simple, to the point, but yet have a design that makes people say "thats a neat sign".

Did you ever wonder about the total different meaning of the different uses of the word "Solicitor"
In the USA it means some one coming around with their hand out or trying to sell you something door to door.

In Great Briton, it's used in place of "Lawyer".
Go figure....

Hey Curry, here's another one, I just threw this together. The idea behind this one is to be self framing (cutting the inside edge on a bevel so that it will inset the inner panel. If you're not familiar with this type of cut Steve has a great video here about it  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zCgoWn-E2w&feature=player_embedded. Cut out the black letters and rout a round over or ogee on the outer ring and you're good to go.

The more scrolling you do, the better you become.  Then you get to the point that Charlie and I are at....we don't enjoy just the "normal" cutting.  I always am working on something that has lots of very fine details.  It's what I enjoy doing, and I find it very relaxing for me.
But we were beginners way back too.  Keep on cutting.
