Well I got this here done a couple of days ago.
I cut it all out of pine and painted it after I got it together.
The pattern is from berry basket. A couple of years ago a person was giving away all his patterns and about half of the is from berry basket patterns.
I am going to put this in the front yard if the snow ever melt.

Looks great James. Make sure that you seal the whole thing so that it lasts outside.

Very nice James! Looks Good!

What would be good to use to seal it with? Poly?
-
Poly should do it .. just check the can for outdoor use. It will say if it can be used for outdoors. I made a water pump planter and I neglected to seal it with a good finish and just painted it with an outdoor paint and it lasted only 3 seasons then the weather tore it up.

I agree with the post about sealing the paint/project for outdoor use. I use Minwax Helmsman Spar Urethane. It is for marine use and protects wood from sunlight, rain & moisture and temperature changes. I get mine by the quart at the local Lowe's store but, I'm sure that it can be had at any hardware store.
I did all the trim, mirror frames and towel racks in our bathroom using oak and coated it with the spar urethane and they have held up in the hi-humidity environment for three years with no problem and will probably last allot longer.

I agree with Roger. I use the helmsmans on all my outdoor projects as well. Nice job!
