Title: Craigslist and Habitat for Humanity
Post by: chief on March 20, 2011, 06:22:16 pm
Well this has been a great weekend for cheap finds.  Friday I got a Porter Cable belt sander at Habitat for Humanity for $10, it is missing the bag which I can get for $15.  So for a $25 investment I got a $180 belt sander.
Searching CRaigslist I ofund some teak from a furniture dealer.  I calle dthe lady and she said she wanted $10 for it, yes that is TEN.  So we drove the 35 miles and when we got there she had enough wood to fill the bed of my F-150 truck.  The place sells teak furniture and a lot of the stuff is busted up, but I will definitely get my money's worth out of it.
So stand by for some new projects made from lovely teak.

You lucky guy!

I have plans for making a teak 'bench' for my shower and all I need is the wood!

Will keep looking while son-in-law makes the bracket out of welded stainless.

Great weekend!

Well the finds make up for the loss at the casino.  Today is my wifes birthday so last night we went to the casino.  She started with $40 and left with $36 after 2 hours of playing.  I spent $80 bucks and didnt win anything.  At least we got 2 $25 food vouchers so the grub was free.

Well I'm jealous of your great wood find, you must be living right.
Your night at the casino wasn't so bad you could have spent more at a fancy steak house without the entertainment. Happy birthday to your Mrs.

Good find and a little luck equals lots of wood and a new toy.  :)
