Hello I am am English woman new to the Scrollsaw but using some very old kit, a Hobbies A1 treadle scroll saw which I am really enjoying learning on. I also have a pole lathe and do a lot of green wood working including wood carving. I got the scrollsaw off Ebay to bulk out the equipment I use at demonstrations and I am now managing to make to very basic shapes Hearts, stars, rabbit outlines, as i said very basic! I am hoping I can use the saw to help make love spoons and generally experiment how I can use the equipment with green wood. As you can probably work out I am a bit of a dinosaur on here as I wood work in a very medieval style with no electical assistance bar the occasional use of a cordless drill and a band saw.

*lol* there are a lot of dinos in here *hide and run*
Have fun. Try a fretwork, try some other stuff. You'll find "your corner" in this hole thing as everybody has found it.

Welcome TreadleR! I think it's outstanding that you're using an old treadle saw. Please let us all know how it works for you and post some pics of your work! Obviously you don't have to have a Hegner or Ecplipse to produce nice work, but it will be neat to see what you can accomplish on a very basic saw. Looking forward to your posts!
