Title: Wood Facts A Series Friday

How's this for old?

Ginkgo {Ginko biloba} is the world's oldest living tree species. It has been found numerous times in sedimentary rocks of the Jurassic and Triassic Periods (135-210 million years ago) when dinosaurs roamed the earth. At one time, thought to be extinct, the species was proliferated from 7 trees that were discovered in an ancient monastery in China. Years later, there were some found growing wild in the isolated valleys of eastern China

Interesting, I took some extract from that tree it is supposed to help memory. I couldn't detect any changes, I guess it was too late for me. LOL

My little translator told me Dawie is Afrikaans for David pretty cool.
Where do you research the information on the different trees?
I went to the website the photo was from and everything is in it's scientific name. No common names. Might as well be in Swahili to me.

Hi Gabby,

I did not find everything myself, a while back I found a website of some guy who had most of the facts, I just checked them out and looked for some extra info. It was fun to do. Sunday will be the last of this series, but I already have something else up my sleeve.

 ;D I did not even notice that all the names on the photo link where scientific, guess I need to learn to read beter.

I spend a lot of my time on the PC looking at different things, it expands my understanding of many things. They don't always stay in my memory unless something will trigger it.
I had my daughter and her husband here last summer, and embarrassingly everything he would say to me would bring back an old memory that I hadn't thought of for years, and I couldn't help myself I just had to tell it all to him. I'm glad he was patient with me and very understanding.
Here I go again my mouth running away with me. LOL
Keep up the informative wood facts or whatever you have in mind, they're good.
