Never knew some cacti are classed as trees.
David
There are no leaves, just thorns on the Saguaro Giant Cactus tree {Carnegiea gigantea}. The tallest one is located in the Sonoran Desert, in the Cave Creek Complex, Maricopa County, Arizona. It is approximately 45 foot 3 inches tall and 3 foot 3 inches in diameter. On June 21, 2005 it was injured in a fire started by lightning

A lot of really nice things have been made from the skeleton of the Cholla cactus (say choy a) things like knife handles and cool looking lamps. Large floor lamps have been made from the Saguaro skeleton. Most cacti have hollow cylindrical lattice like woody skeletons. Most cacti are protected and the only way to get the "wood" is to look for naturally dead plants that the soft parts have rotted away from leaving the wood.

Do a search or 2 and see what else it looks like, I'm sure you'll find some products made from it.
