Okay, I've given up. I have a photo (attached a smaller sample) of a Persian carving (both carving and photo are not copyrighted) that I'd like to make into a pattern, so I can cut 45 panels and make into a room divider this summer, but the software I have is a pain in the tushy.
I'd gladly pay to send the larger photo to someone who can create a good pattern.
TIA :D

Here you go Bill, hope its ok......Paul ;D

I'd be lucky to get thru one of these and you're going to do 45 ?????? WOW
-
That is just over-the-top awsome. Thank you so much!
I'm going to do this during the summer, and will post pics.

Hey there Cuz!
Have some fun and take the whole stack to work and show the guys what you can do on your "LASER" cutter!
~~~GB~~~
P.S. I don't have enough years left to even think about cutting 45 of those!!!!
-
Can you say "stack cut"? ;D
Even with that, I'm going to do it a little here, a little there.
You can thank that movie The Prince of Persia, and Lisa going "Oh, look at that beautiful woodworking. Wouldn't it be nice to have a room devider cut like that?"
Hey Bill, Here is a good idea. Have all your Friends from all over the world make one or two panels each. That way it will be an International effort! And guess what? You do have Friends all over the world!
-
NOW Dan...that gives me and Idea! (Oh God the ol' man is THINKING again!)
would it not be an interesting project to do something like that as a gift for some organization to raffle off as a fund raiser of even as a present for a certain Great Man of scrolling?
Keep thinking GrayBeard!
OMG, 45 of those as panels. Good luck. ;)
-
I don't know about 45 panels, but I may cut a couple. Very pretty design.
-
This is going to be one of those projects that I don't hurry on. There's just the joy of Lisa's face to look forward to, and she's as patient as I.
As for the group effort idea, I'm deeply honored by the suggestion, but there are too many variables that would cause people headaches. I do like the idea of some sort of group effort to create something, auction it off, and give the money to a charity or to Steve to help pay for this community.
Hey, I sorta just got 15 done. Lisa changed her mind on the size and it only needs 30 panels. :D
Good work Bill! Now if you can just convince her that every other one should be solid, you'll 2/3 the way there! :D
-
Great idea! I'll "dry piece" the first section together (2 by 5 panels) and ask, "Is this too busy?" If she agrees, I'll "checkerboard" the panels. :D I love it.
At this rate, pretty soon you'll be thinking about just pasting the patterns on the panels and not cutting any of them! LOL
Seriously, it's an awesome idea but it would totally daunt me too.
This conversation is getting very interesting. It would be really neat to do something as a group effort.
My wife and daughter are part of a cross-stitching group online. They get together every fall in Hershey, PA. at a bed & breakfast for a week and stitch together. Last year they each made part of a wall-hanging to hang in the inn. I took the inn's logo and designed a walnut hangar of that logo for the fabric to hang on. It turned out very well and everyone (especially the inn's owners) were very happy with the whole thing.
