Title: Tissue Box
Post by: lwilli on February 06, 2011, 08:51:28 pm
I recently asked for help and advice on how to scroll cut names in some Tissue Boxes that I was making for friends of my wife. She wanted to personalize them and I couldn't think of any better way than to insert their names, but didn't quite know how to do it. I received many helpful comments and suggestions. I realize that this isn't quite a scroll saw project, but I am just getting involved in this art and so I just wanted to display the final result. I hope that over time and as my skill level improves I can display a complete scroll saw creation. I'm certain that with all the generous people that make up this forum I can find the answers to any problems that I might encounter.

Very excellent work, Louis.  A great gift for the designated person.  I know anything that I have made and personalized was a double hit for the intended person.

Why don't you think it was a scroll saw project ??  Didn't you use the scroll saw to do it ???   It looks great and I would be proud to have one.  You are going to make some people feel really special when they get theirs.

Nice box joints Louis!  It is a scroll saw project, because at least part of it was done with the scroll saw.  It doesn't have to be entirely made on the scroll saw.  Besides I have personally posted things I've made here that never touched a scroll saw.  Most of us are interested in other facets of woodworking as well, this place just caters to scroll saw work.  Glad you showed us!

Very nice!
I'm always interested in the works of others whether on the scrollsaw or lathe, or router, etc.

Recipients will be very pleased.

Very nice!  I have yet to complete a project where the only thing I used was the scroll saw!  What you DID do with the saw was a very important part of the project!  Good job!

I appreciate all the wonderful comments! You guys don't realize how much your feedback means to a person. I believe that comments from those who spend time in woodworking, scroll sawing, crafts or anyone who has a desire to be creative with their hands are the most important ones. I'm not saying that a smile from the person who is receiving the project isn't meaningful, but a favorable nod from a another participant is the best...you guys are truly my inspiration to do a better job next time.
