Hey!
Some of you probably got aware that I'm into kite landboarding (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kite_landboarding) and snowkiting (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowkiting) when I'm not at the saw.
A few weeks ago one of my friends there asked me if I know some more individual kite sticks. This was the time I created the fairy sticks - and was pretty sure, I could produce some kite sticks in a similar way.
I decided to make this my first product to be sold. If it works (and I'm pretty sure it will!) I will make my way to make scroll sawing products as a official business!

We use these sticks to secure the kite when it is not in use. Most of these usual sticks are quite simple, some use billiard balls, some use golf balls as a top.
Now I'm going to present these to the community - let's see if they do sell. I hope but also bet I will be supercharged with orders - there is no similar product out there.

I hope all goes well Torsten and that you have found a niche to market in.

Can you explain more about what those are used for. I don't quite get it. It looks like you did a really great job and have a nice variety to begin with.
BTW thanks for the 2 articles. I had heard of snow kites but not of the land boards before.

Very neat idea! I hope they sell for you!

Great idea! Don't make them too inexpensive or you may regret it later.

Hey!
Thanks - I'll see how things go. I did set the price to 10?, the normal industrial onces are around 5-7?.
@ Mike
this is the industrial product (http://www.powerkites.de/index.php?option=com_kite&view=kite&Itemid=221&lang=en).
We use it to keep the kite on position when the kite is not used. Most kiters us more than one kite at a time - I usual have 2-3 build up. So every kiter needs at least one - most times more than one kite stick.
Traction kites have 4 lines, 2 guiding lines and 2 brakes. If the brakes are pulled hard, the kite goes down or is not able to start.
So we attach the handles or bar to the stick, preventing the kite to move by itself.

Hope they like your idea Torsten. Looks great to me. I know a few kite surfers round here. So if business takes off you might try expanding to your dutch neighbours, all kite sports seem to be picking up here as far as I hear.
