I do not need a tracing one, a light box to stick objects in to photograph. I may end up buying one that has the lights and stand with it, made for photography. LOL

All you need to do is make a box with a open front cut a hole in the top with a jigsaw (Smaller then the clamp light) put a sheet of wax paper onto the hole get yourself a clamp on light (The kind people use for brooder lights) put it on top of the wax paper paint the inside of a box a dark color (I went with Black) place what you want inside of it turn the light on and bam there you go. I built one for a friend and she loves it.
The size depends on what you want to shoot inside of it.
The wax paper is the defusser (she also uses a 60 watt reading lightbulb)

I had seen that one months ago and thought I had saved it but couldn't find it.
Have a nice big box left from the holidays and plan to put one together...OF it ever warms up in out part of the world!

We had another thread a few months ago where we talked about light boxs for photography. Like Merlin posted just do a Internet search for 'How to make light boxes for photography".

I made an inexpensive tracing light by cutting a 1/4" piece of plexi the size I wanted, drilled countersink holes in each corner, added 1" dowel legs (it works better to make the back ones taller and to angle the ends), put a small flourescent light underneath and you are good to go.

I think one of my weak points for my site is the quality of the photos, and that comes mostly from the lighting.

Somewhere in my 'tons of paper' I have a plan for building a 'light box' with the slanted top. It may take me a while but if I find it I will let you all know and try to either post it or give you a link.
I like the idea of the CFL lamps to cut down on the cost and heat!

Using a light box and a quality camera will expose allot more flaws in your work. Something to think about. LOL ::)
