Excellent ... I think I have that pattern... I started to cut that one when my old saw was starting to go on the fritz so I put it up... hmmm... might just have to finish it now :) Great job Judy. THanks for sharing it with us.

Did you cut the entire outer perimeter with the spiral?
Either your hands are steadier than mine or you did a lot of 'edge sanding'!
I generally use a #3 or #5 FD Polar for the outside of my portraits.

Really amazing! Having been born in the year of the Dragon I've always had a soft spot for them. I thought the one I cut out many years ago had a lot of cutouts, but yours beats mine by quite a bit.

GB yes I did the perimeter cut with the spiral too. I always touch up the outside edges if I need to. I have a 1/2 inch fine belt on my upright belt sander.

I got turned onto Dragons after reading all of Anne McCaffrey's books about the Dragons of Pern series (and just about everything else she wrote). Quite often the cover art was really cool. They should be available in your Science Fiction Fantasy section of the library. You can see some of the covers at the link below. If it doesn't open when you click on it just copy and paste.
