Currently 25? F and predicted low tonight is 16?!
High tomorrow might reach 28?....
Two heaters going in the garage and still couldn't get it above 48?.
Will just have to 'suspend' operations until the weekend when they are predicting highs in the mid 50's...WHOOOOOOPEEEEE.
God please help all the 'growers' down South!

I hope it warms up in the next couple weeks,(still warmer than where I am) I'll be in your area for Christmas
-
8? here now.I have been wearing 3 layers of pants and 6 layers of tops, with a parabolic heater pointed at me in the garage.I keep turning to look to make sure the chair or I am not on fire!! ;D Gonna try to move inside.
-
The worst thing is not the shirts and pants but trying to scroll with fleece lined mittens!
Just Kidding!
The cold and the solvents have started the annual "Split Thumb Syndrome"!
I used to like winter!
Bah! HumBug!!!

It's 2? out now...will get below 0? again tonight. Might be a HIGH of -8? on Monday of next week. The ole squad car is mighty chilly when working these night shifts...last winter while taking care of a head-on crash it was -49? with the windchill. No amount of clothes can keep you warm in that...had a full face mask on and gloves and STILL got frostbite on my ears and fingertips.
Can't wait for January when it will be even colder..."Judy Hunter" knows what I'm talking about...living in NoDak is no better than Minnesota.
I move the minimum amount of power tools I need into the basement during the winter months. I have tried to do it in the garage with a heater...but when you need to wear snow pants and a parka to go out and woodwork...forget it!
Why do I live here again...............???
-
You live there for the same reason my son lives in Wisc.!
YOU Love It!
My favorite Stevens Point, WI story was when my son sent me a picture of the local bowling alley parking lot in January.
The parking lot was completely full on a Saturday afternoon...
BUT there was not a CAR in the lot!
It was packed with ATV's, 4-wheel pick-ups and SNOWMOBILES!
Son's online name is "captive of the north"!

OK, I promise to not complain about 30-40 degrees in the morning. I've been in the shop before the sun comes up for days and bit**ing about it being cold. I went to High School in Alaska and don't remember cold affecting me this way. Old age and artificial parts, I guess. I do miss basements, though. They don't have them in Texas.
-
Julie...I have been in Texas in the bitter cold and the scorching heat.
Frankly, NOW I prefer the HEAT!
That 'titanium' does get cold, doesn't it.
Turned on my heaters and hope to do some cutting today...might get into the mid 30's!
Thank the Lord for a garage that faces South to catch as much heat as it can....

I am so thankful my saw is in the basement.

It has been in the 50's during the day, 30's at night here in central Florida. My shop has Heat and AC so I am comfortable all year long. :)

Been chilly of late in W. Indiana!
In one part of my mettle pole barn I sectioned off a room in Sept for my little shop. I insulated heavy, then put up some old 1x12 oak boards I had scavenged from another barn. Then I put in a BIG woodstove,
Our local sawmill has a huge pile of cutoffs almost all of which will fit in the stove, all various hardwoods! I can get all I want... FREE pick up at least a truckload every week. (scroll it, turn it, or burn it) It all gets used.
The night before I plan on being in the shop, I fill the stove with wood at night, My son builds me a fire with a little diesel when he feeds the chickens & Rabbits in the morning before school.
By 9:00 my shop is 60-70 while its 10-15 outside...
Life is good!

Sounds like a sweet set up, Mike. Toastie!! I sure miss having kids around to do the chores!

So much truer today than when started. 16 here this am with strong wind and snow on the ground with more falling. I think with the strong wind that the snow on the ground here actually fell in Canada but got this far before it reached the ground.
Fortunately, before this hit, I moved one of my saws into the kitchen so I can keep cutting and the coffee pot is close by.

This easier than describing it!
