Title: Christmas Bookmarks
Post by: mrsn on December 06, 2010, 06:01:12 pm
I wanted to make some simple bookmarks for my students at school, so I made up these patterns.
It was one of those projects where stack cutting comes in so handy. I have made about 50 so far, many I have dyed with food coloring, some are left plain, all sprayed with poly.

These are really cool!  I think the students will love them.  Great job!

your students should like them, i know i do. did you use solid wood or ply? i've been wondering
how food coloring looked on wood.

I used up some scraps to make these.  Most were 1/8" ply, a few were something like basswood just shy of 1/8". Some of the solid ones warped a bit while they were drying after the dye, I got a bit nervous but they flattened out on their own.
