Title: Yellow dust all over my yellow saw
Post by: dgman on November 13, 2010, 10:02:01 pm
I cut this cross out of yellow heart today and it left a pile of yellow dust all over my yellow saw! Thought I would post this so everyone could see that my saw does get dusty!
Pattern by Steve.

Nice Dgman, It almost camouflaged your saw LOL. I never seen yellow heart before, it is definitely yellow.

Nice dust.   The swirls are particularly attractive.   :)

Oh, nice cross too!  I've never used yellow heart either.  It is really bright!  Does it stay like that or will it fade with time?

The very first clock cutting I did was yellow heart.  After that one all the rest were EASY!  Very tough to cut but very beautiful in the end result.  I gained a whole year's worth of education on that first clock and I'll try anything (except lignum vitae) now!

better yellow dust then some white dust!!!
I guess yellow dust makes you happy for the long time, is better for your health and is much cheaper.

OK, I'll ask, what kind of wood does it come from, I've never heard of a "heart" tree so I'm guessing it's heart wood but from what??  See there are stupid questions ???

Not to rub it in Pete, but it was in the mid 80's today!
Thanks for the offer of the beer and brandy though!

Nice cutting, and the yellow heart looks great. The cross looks better cut then on paper, I hadn't really liked it before I saw your cutting.
