I have to go work hockey at the local rink tonite.
High School "Gold Cup Challenge Match"!
Over 1,200 tickets sold already and that is just the 'pre-sale' so we will likely have over 1,500 before the game starts!
Biggest crowd I have worked so far was 650.
Gonna be a busy night for the door keepers (me). We have 6 Park Rangers (full police powers) also working to check purses and backpacks for drugs, booze and illegal noisemakers!
Nice commentary on High School Athletics and the fans!

Well we had a 'clean night'...
The teeny boppers are getting smarter and leaving the stuff in the car. Plainclothes cop caught two in the parking lot and they had to dump out about a case of foamy stuff.
Only one incident inside, had to eject two for throwing stuff on the ice.
Quite a crew tonight, 7 Rangers, two plainclothes cops and me.
The finale was good hockey for two periods but one team built up a 7 goal lead and the other had the frustration syndrome so the penalties came hot and heavy in the third period.

Now for a snack, some coffee and then relax in front of a good western from my library.

These are two schools in the same 'district' and are Arch Rivals in EVERYTHING so they tend to get a bit 'rambunctious' whenever they play against each other.
Just a few 'bad apples' sometimes create a disturbance and then the whole thing boils over so we like to be adequately prepared.
It is not unusual for the football games to draw 3,000 fans! When that happens there are no days off for the local LEO's and the County also brings in a few of the Sheriffs department Swat team units members.
