Got this idea from a clock in a gift catalog and decided to use the concept to create my own out of 3 inch think maple. Made it sort of like a bandsaw box. The only scroll work is the accents on the front, but I really like it so I thought I would post it here.

Thanks for all the nice words! I was a little hesitant to post it here due to the fact that it didn't have a lot of scroll work, but I am pleased to hear that so many like it.

nice job.
something to kill time with.. ;D

Love this idea and looks great , but mine had a six inch barrel - guess I'd have to have a lot bigger clock ..........
-
The one in the pic has a 4" barrel, so a 6 might just fit. Of course it would be easy to adjust the size to accommodate whatever you need. I didn't start with a pattern, I just drew what I wanted on the wood. That way I couldn't fail to cut according to the plans ::)

Great job Bill, your title could have been,
"Time to bite the bullet". ;)

I love this project. I will definitely be stealing the idea for a pattern for the blog. Thanks for posting.

Now really feel flattered! Let me know if you need any input or better pictures Steve.
