My 788 is only a year old and it is knocking but I can't figure out where at? I have already tried turning the tension rod but it only helped for about a hour and the knocking started again. Any suggestions. I have already done everything suggested on Ricks site too.

Michael I do not own a Dewalt, You said you have already been to Ricks site, I was hoping his site would fix the problem, you could give these a try, no guarantees.

Same set up as the Excalibur you should go back to supplier and get it seen to, the mechanism has to be in balance and is a job for the experts

The only time I have had a knocking on my ex21 is when I installed the motor a quarter turn off. It sounds like something is out of whack on your motor.

You should have posted this in "Ask Steve A Question". He is really good with Dewalt saws. Maybe he will see this and have some advice. 8)

My 788 only knocks when the TENSION is not set correctly. I have turned the tension rod and now set the tension at 4 on the scale. You my have turned the rod in the wrong direction?
