Title: Exotic Wood - Ebay Seller
Post by: kalipbean on October 19, 2010, 07:36:16 pm
Not sure where most of you get your wood but I found a seller on ebay who sells TONS of great exotic wood, some that I have never even heard of! I just got my first order in and the wood is beautiful, im scared to cut it! Just wanted to give you guys a heads up on your next wood order.

Heres their ebay page. They sell a lot of 1/4" thicknesses in plenty of widths, great scrolling wood at cheap prices when combine shipping.
Check it out!

I just got some Amazon Rosewood, Wenge, Bloodwood, Granidillo, Amargosa, Peruvian Walnut, Morago and many more.

I bought some Ambrosia Maple from that seller.  Beautiful wood, good price, fast shipping (which I believe is the feedback I left him on 1/29).  Funny thing...I haven't used the wood yet!

Yea, the wood will probably sit in my closet for a while. But atleast it looks cool right? Good for ornaments and such.

I bought the Ambrosia Maple because I had convinced myself that I was going to work my way through Carole Rothman's book on wooden bowls.  After I got in several beautiful pieces of wood, I did the first bowl in the book, and learned I didn't have room for the tools I really needed to make the bowls (or the patience to do all the sanding by hand).  I guess I'll just stick to fretwork until I can build a bigger shop.

remember to always research your woods for possible health hazzards before using.
Better to be safe then sorry ;)

I have bought from that eBay-er a few times.  The wood is always really nice...no cups or cracks...really nice quality and a good price.

ROTFLMAO!!!  My wife was just reading over my shoulder, pointed at this topic and asked, "What's erotic wood?"  I honestly fell out of my chair laughing!
