Title: Stuff you didn't know you didn't know! #1
Post by: GrayBeard on October 07, 2010, 04:20:44 pm
In the 1400's a law was set forth in England that a man was allowed
to beat his wife with a stick no thicker than his thumb.

Hence we have 'the rule of thumb'

Just use a bat... then the rule doesn't apply.   Always a loophole, ain't it?  ;)

Actually, I knew that.  Am I weird for knowing that?  Well, I saw there was another one.  I guess I will go and see if I know that one too.   ;)

Janet - I am surprised at you!  Are you sure you don't have pain meds?  Just use a bat?  I figured you would suggest that for the woman's side, not the men's.

For those with a wife like I have, it is best to get a stick smaller than your thumb, maybe a switch. That way it doesn't do permanent damage when she takes it away from you and beats you with it.

A stick of that size would be just right to take away from him, beat the rat poop out of him then inject it forcefully into an orfice of his body that would make him look like a popcicle.
