Title: !/4" oak...stack cutting?
Post by: GrayBeard on October 05, 2010, 02:16:06 pm
I am making a bunch of "Oven Pulls" of 1/4" oak.

Do any of you foresee any problems stacking them to 3/4" and using a FD SR #5 blade?

Since the piece you are cutting is not intricate, 3/4 should work fine.

I made a couple 1/4" thick.  Seemed too thin.  1/2 " thick looks and feels much better.

I have stack cut 3 x 1/4" oak without any problems. FD SR #5 blade blade should work fine. Make sure you use packing tape to lube the blade.  8)

Used the 1/4" to use up some 'off fall' aka "scrap"!

#/4" stack worked fine. Cranked the speed up and completely wrapped those suckers in packing tape.

FD-UR #5 left NO burrs or fuzzies!
