First day of day light saving in NZ and it was as dark as night when I got up 7am and it was not much better at 8am, the weather doesn't help either, I hate day light saving it is messing with nature, what are your thoughts

Jimbo, I actually like daylight savings time in the summer when it stays light longer. But your right about it being dark in the mornings in spring.
-
I agree JImbo....
Sooner or later Mother Nature is going to "get us" for messing around!

I can't imagine you messing around GB :o

wished they would leave it alone one way or another cause just when i get use to it, then its time to change back again. :(

I have said for years they need to leave it alone. It is hard to believe some guy named Hudson invented modern DST proposing it first in 1895 because he wanted to collect insects after work. 8)

I thought Ben Franklin proposed the idea to save energy. I could be wrong though... it's happened... once. ;)
-
I thought it was because golfers wanted more time to golf in the summer.
I think they should leave it alone and go by the real time.
-
don't see the real benefit of it.
always need a week or two to get in the rhythm.
-
I am glad here in Arizona we do not observe daylight savings time.
-
I agree leave the time alone. We can do very well with the real time. Still a month to go here before we go back an hour and then in March the whole circus of setting clocks forward again. Who ever it was that wanted it changed must have had a reason, but to me it is not beneficial.

Why not leave the time alone and just change work hours?
-
David your clocks go forward an hour not back, they go back next time around, there is one state in Australia that don't change either
