Yesterday, in the mail, I received two books of patterns that can be ordered. Well, they are really just small catalogs, one is called the "Windfield Collection" and the other is "Scroller".
I DID NOT order these catalogs, Scroller has a cover price of $3.95 and Windfield Collections is $3.00.
It seems to me the prices are a bit high but, there are some very good patterns in them.
Did anyone else on this fourm receive these?
I am just wondering if belonging to this website had something to do with my getting these catalogs or if maybe ordering some of my blades and wood from outher places had something to do with it.
I do not order things on line, I usually call the places that I order from but, how did they get my name and address?
Just courious....

I have been receiving those catalogs for years. I recently got one from a company called Sherwood. That one was new to me but pretty good collection. I have never paid for them. You probably received them from placing an order with another company.

I get those too. Probably got your name on a mailing list for an order with another company with similar products. They are really 1 company with 2 different types of woodworking/craft plans. So, 2 different catalogs. I have ordered from Scroller LTD and have had good luck. Nice patterns and average ship time to my house.

I stopped by the store near Fenton, Michigan and was surprised by the generosity. They gave me more patterns than I purchased. Read their copyright policy carefully, it is quite restrictive including picture size and resolution. I am sure it is an effort to to protect from patterns being made from photos. Oh by the way, yes, I am happy with the patterns from Winfield Collections.

Some web site you visited or gave information to probably sent you the two catalog books of patterns. I can tell you we give no, I mean NO, information to anyone.
I have often worried about a spy sneaking in. :(

I have been getting the Winfield Cat. for many years. I have ordered patterns but never paid for the Cat.

I get them and several others also.
Selling mailing lists is BIG business and you also never know the inner workings of companies. Some companies have a large corporation at the top and many sub-companies that all share each other's mailing lists.
If I had to pay the so-called "Price" for all the various catalogs I get (woodworking, computer supplies, food products, etc.) I would never have any money for scrolling supplies.
It costs those companies very little to add a name to their mailing list and very little to produce extra catalogs and the revenue that comes from purchases greatly offsets their costs.
Buy a small item from Grizzly and when you order ask for a catalog. The catalog is HUGE but they will send it for at least a couple years even for a small purchase on the off chance that you might start a major business and wind up buying a $12,000 piece of equipment from them.
It is called "Marketing"...
After you browse the catalogs....RECYCLE them!!!!!!!!!!

I just got them today, I seem to be on/off their mailing list every other year

Hi Rog, let me assure you that no information from this forum or my blog is sold or shared in any way. I am also on their mailing lists but I have been buying scroll saw products for years so that's not surprising.

For what it's worth, Scroller Ltd and Windfield Collection are the same company or at least associated with each other.
