Title: Good Morning... Let the stress begin
Post by: northie66 on September 06, 2010, 08:27:00 pm
Of my own design.  See... I don't always copy stuff.  hehehe  :P

It's oak... I think.  Clear coat... no stain, no oil... I'm lazy.

You could raise the whole G above the line. I have seen it done that way. Or you could use capital letters so they are all the same size, like you did on the bottom line. or do it like you did. That seems to work!

Nice one Janet.  I have a couple of sets of templates that raise the letters above the line.  They look fine.

Nice job, Janet.

Personally, I like the all caps.  It might be "shouting" in e-mails or posts, but I don't personally care for the popped up look of raised lower case letters.  Your solution solves that but, again, just my opinion, it make the letter look kind of funny.

I feel like a real renegade saying that.  I know this forum is mostly about bragging an receiving praise.  Nothing wrong with that for sure because it encourages which is a good thing.  But you asked the question so I am assuming that you want real answers about what people think.

I hope I didn't offend as that is not my intent at all.  I'm glad you tried it the way you did so I/we can see what it looks like (for whatever that's worth).

Heck no Becky!  Don't worry about that!  I like constructive criticism... maybe we don't do that enough here.

I agree... it makes the letter look funny... that's why I asked.  I like lowercase letters sometimes but they are a pain with that.  I don't like how I do it so I want alternatives in case I really want to use lowercase.

Nice job. Good wood dosen't need stain or oil, I preffer it finished in its natural color.

It would fit my daughters life perfectly, have to make her a copy if you don't mind.  Maybe add a clock to it
Thanks for sharing

Oak does look nice , I would make more of oak - but when making lots just to give away I can turn out the softer woods faster .........keep up the pretty work Janet..........
