Title: Happy Labor Day!
Post by: dgman on September 06, 2010, 11:41:45 am
This is a holiday for those of us in the states! It celebrates the American Worker.
So happy Labor Day to us!

We celebrate with the Greeks....

The largest Greek Orthodox Church in the area has a Festival that Runs Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
More great Greek food than you could want and all the "PASTRIES", Tours of the Church, Dancing by the Greek parishioners from tots to great- grandmas.

We just got home, I'm stuffed, have some Baklava still to eat but before that it is 'nap time'!

Hope everyone had as much fun and food as I did....

Well I spent the whole day in the shop. I'm making six of the Dancer Musical Mini Clocks that Steve designed on his blog dated 8/01/2010. These will be for the woodworking club's annual toy drive in December. I'll post pictures when they are completed.

OK here on the west coast it is 5:30 and time to crank up the grill. Gonna do a London Broil, Baked potato and grilled corn on the cob. Of coarse a beer or two while grilling!

Yup it was! Heres how I do the corn. Take the husk off then spread some butter on it. then sprinkle some sugar on it. Wrap in aluminum foil and put on the grill. The best corn you will ever taste!
As for the London Broil, I use Lawry's Beef marinade. Instead of using water to mix the marinade, I use beer. Let marinade for 15 minutes and grill. My son and I like it rare, and wifey likes medium. Tasty!

I soak the corn husk and all in water for several hours then drain and put on the grill. Works great. After it cooks the husk comes right off.  8)

You're making me hungry.   And that's quite a feat since I'm home sick... I think I have food poisoning.
