Title: aluminium and blades

so what blades do you use for aluminum and - I just happen to have a couple pieces of siding left over, could I use that for ornaments or something??

The Flying Dutchman - The Iron Man Blade or Jewelers Blade will work well with cutting metal. Aluminum siding is usually very thin. You could cut off a small piece and try it.  8)

Thanks Russ, very informative, loved the way he jumped when he broke the blade, I thought I was the only one that did that ;D   Pete

Pete your welcome. Let me know how it works out. I have some aluminum scraps from the panels we cut for the race cars. If it works for you I just might have to try it.  8)

hey yguy, If I where cutting thin metals, I would sandwich it between to layers of 1/8" Baltic birch plywood. That way the metal will no catch on the blade and distort.

Good idea dgman. I have not cut any metal yet with my scroll saw. But your post totally makes sense. Thanks for the input.  8)
