Hello, I have a photo of my daughter and new son in law that I would like a pattern made. They recently got married. I don’t know how to make patterns. Thanks in advance.
-
I have made a couple of my own but not very good at it. I did a long time ago as I did the course at Scroll Saw Village.
The course at Scrollsaw Village using GIMP is at https://www.scrollsawvillage.com/village-university/ (https://www.scrollsawvillage.com/village-university/).
If you are a member Scroll Saw Village they have a pattern request section too.
Not sure of the cost but there is a service at https://theholzbrothers.com/scroll-saw-portrait-service (https://theholzbrothers.com/scroll-saw-portrait-service). The other services there are quite reasonable. Tried them out on other pattern and is well done.

Can you upload the image? need to see the details.
-
I read in the rules that I’m not suppose to upload photo. I may be wrong about that. I can email it to you.

My bad... rookie mistake...
Yes, please do.

Hi Raptor66,
I gave it a try, please check to see if it meets your expectation,
If it does, let me know I will send you the template with higher resolution.

Thank you for doing that. What would I cut out the white or black parts?
-
You should cut out the black parts, I want the template close to the original picture as much I can, so it looks real and because of that there are small details.
This is how I would do:
- Cut it on 1/8" wood with #1 or #2 blade
- Prepare 1/4" back board, paint it black or dark color
- Glue them together, details will stand out
But that just me, you can do whatever you feel comfortable with.

Looks like I would be cutting most of his suit off. Will portrait stay together or is that why you are suggesting a black backer board?
-
Jones please email me the template thanks man!
