I have not done a very good job keeping up with the day to day posting on the forum. It seems there are several messages lately about the forum being slow. I just optimized the logs for better performance. Hopefully this will help improve things. It might also have been a server issue. I'm looking into that also. Thanks for being so patient. If you could reply here if you are still having issues. Thanks.

Thanks, Steve! So far, much faster!

Yes Steve works well here too. Thanks.

-
seems better here also. thanks steve.
-
What ever you did - worked
-
Thanks Steve...Much Better!
I almost knew it was a simple fix but we understand YOU have a life also.
As I said in the 'coffee shop' a Slow Forum is sure better than NO Forum!

Working much better Steve. Thank you very much. We know you are busy and we "grin and bear it".
-
Thanks Steve! Hope it stays this way!
-
It is GREAT ....thanks Steve.
-
Thanks guys, appreciate all the comments.
-
Thank you!

Well, I guess I can't agree with all of you. Ever since Steve "fixed" things it takes anywhere from 10 to 15 seconds for pages to come up. Sometimes longer!

I have to agree...
Was fast as lightening for a while and now is slowing down again.
More traffic?
Seems more and more folks are jumping in now.

Back to greased lightning again.
-
Sorry to say I have to agree with GB, Things are slowing down on this end again as well. But at least we have a forum and can get to posts.

It went real good today, however it is back to very slow again right now

Yes it is back to slooowwwww again. :(
-
Yep slow again in NZ, but then in saying tat some posts are quite good and others are down right slowwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
did I say they are slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
***Merlin***
Okay I come back to say that it took 45 seconds to post this when the "post" button was pressed, then it took another 30 seconds to get back to post this.
-
Yep... slow again for me too. :-[ :'(
-
Me too, not quite as bad as before - but we really slowed down yesterday.
-
I feel somewhat responsible for the posting of the Slowness of the response time.
My initial thought was that as one who is constantly 'tinkering' with my system that I had personally done something that was slowing things down.
I certainly don't think Steve is remiss or lacking in his administration of the group but it does seem that there is a 'problem' somewhere along the line and the logical place would be with the 'server' since it is an intermittent thing and is experienced by most users.
I, too, am 'computer' knowledgeable enough to know the 'problem' can be a very difficult one to pinpoint and solve.
With the comments that have been posted I seriously doubt that anyone is going to drop out of this group just because it slows down from time to time.
We all appreciate that Steve has done a great job of setting up this 'forum' and we have to realize that he also does have a LIFE to live on his own and cannot be a perpetual servant to the members of the group!
Anyone who uses a Scroll Saw must be 'patient by nature' so we will roll with the situation and be eternally happy that we have this source of information, friendship and knowledge of our 'craft'.
A REMINDER!!!
This and Steve's blog are financed by Steve and through DONATIONS!!!
Have you made a donation lately?!?!?!?!?

Well said GB. I for one will stick around unless my pc blows or the net lets me down, slow patches or not. I agree that Steve has set up a wonderfull place for us, so thanks Steve.

I'm still working on the issues. I am not certain at the moment what is going on but I suspect my hosting company has maxed out the server I'm on. Again, thanks for being patient.
-
No problem Steve, take the time you need, I for one will stick around, this is to good a place not to come to. Good luck with the sorting of the problem.

I remember a good saying I saw once that would make a great WordArt Pattern....
"God, Please give me Patience, NOW!"
If we are nothing else Steve we are patient!!!

I will not give up ;D The forum is my morning coffee time and I sneak a peek throughout the day. I always have some pattern work or something to do so I get something done while waiting if it is slow. I am like an old souped up 57 Chevy, I don't idle well.
-
"Like an ol '57 Chevy..."
Great line Judy!
Mind if I borrow it next time someone asks what an old guy like me is doing with so many 'irons in the fire' all the time?
