Title: It is HOT!!!!
Post by: GrayBeard on August 03, 2010, 11:31:07 pm
St. Peters/St. Louis, MO. USA
10:00 p.m. Temp. = 92 deg.
                Humidity = 70%

Hi today 102 degrees and expected to be the same or higher on Wednesday!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The birds are using potholders to pull worms out of the ground.
The trees are whistling for the dogs.
The best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.
Hot water now comes out of both taps.
You can make sun tea instantly.
You learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron.
The temperature drops below 95 F (35 C) and you feel a little chilly.
You discover that it only takes 2 fingers to steer your car.
You discover that you can get sunburned through your car window.
You actually burn your hand opening the car door.
You break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 in the morning.
Your biggest bicycle wreck fear is "What if I get knocked out & end up lying on the pavement & cook to death?"
You realize that asphalt has a liquid state.
The potatoes cook underground so all you have to do is pull one out & add butter, salt and pepper.
Farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying boiled eggs.
The cows are giving evaporated milk.
It has been 110 degrees in Hutchinson for the last two days and the humidity is just "killer"!!!
A newspaper reporter actually baked biscuts and cookies on aluminum foil on the dash of her car. Cooked hot dogs too!!!
Last year, at this time we had very mild temps.
Gotta go mow the lawn this morning before it gets too hot.
No rain for several days and the heat index up to 112 here in Pomona MO Ed.  I now have a desert for a yard instead of grass.  I am really dreading to find out what winter is gonna be like.  It is said that so far this is the hottest summer on record since 2007 for the nation.
I take care of my outside animals early in the morning and in the evening.  Other than that I stay in the house.
DragonLord...I know!
I have been to Scottsdale and Tucson and even Old Tucson and the Sonora...BUT we don't need that here!
Last time I left Phoenix it was 104 deg. and the humidity was 13%! I was wearing a coat and tie and was not overly uncomfortable.
We landed in St. Louis and it was 97 deg. with 99% humidity and I almost didn't get off the plane 'cause it was returning to Phoenix!!!
Flight Attendant wouldn't let me stay on....
You guys and gals quit complaining.  The Persian Gulf is hot.  I have been over there when the sea water temp was over 100 degrees, yeah the ocean water was over 100 degrees.  I worked in the boiler room on an aircraft carrier and the temps in the ventilation that is forced in was about 110-115 degrees.  Where we didnt have ventilation it was around 140 degrees.  I dont mind the high temps, but I cant stand to be in the sun.
Sorry Chief!
We tend to get wrapped up in our own little worlds and forget about the other guys and gals!
Goes back to the old comment about "Walk a mile in HIS moccasins!"
Thank You for the reminder!
I have fought house fires for over 25 years, some in the summer. Temperature in a house fire can run from 900 to 1500 degrees. :o I have the right to complain. 8) And this summer is a hot one. Breaking records here in Florida.   :P
