Hi everyone. I'm wondering, for those of you who used MDF: How do you get the best result with MinWax Sanding Sealer and spray paint?
I'm finding that the sealer does a lot of sudsing when I apply it and consequently, I'm not happy with the eventual paint results. I tried using a foam brush to apply the sanding sealer, then a chip brush, but neither seem to do the trick. I may have to breakdown and get a good quality brush.
Just curious how others get a final result that they're happy with.

I don't use MDF much but I have put sanding sealer on with a rag and results were o.k

I find that the edges will absorb 2 or 3 coats. I have used straight shellac too.
After I apply sanding sealer or primer I sand with 220 and usually get a real smooth finish. I use a cloth type roller. The foam leaves bubbles that if I use I feather our with brush

Thanks guys.
Anyone else?
