Title: cutting a V in a pattern
Post by: agooday88 on May 01, 2015, 06:07:18 pm
I am having difficulty cutting a V ( point ) in a pattern. I watched so many videos on it and they all have different ways to do it. So I thought I would come on here and see what ways you all do it and that way I can get an idea of which one to learn.

Here is a link to my video in which I show how I do it. :)  Remember - there are more than one RIGHT ways to do just about anything!

I hope it is helpful!

Thank you Sheila. The video was very well done and I also love your website. I will try your technique on the V. It looks easy enough. thanks again. :D

That was a good video also, Russ. Thank you. I think I have the hang of it. I am headed out to the Woodworking Shop to give it a try. :)

Depending on where the V is in the pattern, I will like shelia did in her vid cut a space or wedge out, if its on the out side of the pattern on the edge I cut down both insides of the V to teh inside point to a get sharp corners, I also tend to cut out the waste in corners then make my turn so I get a good 90 degree cut.

The V cuts are all inside cuts.  Like diamonds and tear drops. I think I can do it with practice. Thanks all
